The Wrong Side of Right

Ladies you know how we do! We work so hard to achieve a certain goal, advance professionally, or pursue our passion, only to second guess ourselves when we succeed. The questions start pouring in wreaking havoc on our brains. Am I good enough? Did I do enough? Do I really deserve this? Do I seem weak and incompetent? Are my hips too big? [We always throw in some form of body shaming just to be extra hard on ourselves.]

We have the right to question ourselves, doubt our abilities and ambush ourselves emotionally for succeeding at what we’ve worked very hard to accomplish. But it’s the absolute wrong thing to do. It’s the wrong side of right! This behavior is self-abusive and self-demeaning. Let’s stop the madness ladies and start celebrating our vast accomplishments! True, we live in a man’s world. But YOU wanted it, YOU pursued it and YOU accomplished it as a WOMB-MAN (aka man with a womb - aka woman)!

Bottom line…you have the right to be happy about your successes and to celebrate yourself unabashedly! So do so starting now!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. …And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
