And all of my Queen Sisters who are receiving this same blog email personalized in your name - I speak to you individually and collectively...

It’s the first Wednesday in November and I hope you’re gearing up for your new brand identity. In the past 3 or 4 emails, I’ve encouraged you to hone into yourself – to inner-discover and inner-connect. Now it’s time to hone out of yourself as well. That means that you and I must make time and take time to care for our bodies through exercise. Uuugghh! Do we have to? Yes. YES. YES, we do!

From a vanity standpoint, we’ve got to look our best! I think I speak for most women when I say we all want the freedom of dressing without having to camouflage. I personally love wearing “the little black dress” with the cinching waist. And I want to continue wearing 5-inch heels without the threat of my ankles giving out. I’m the first to admit that it’s hard to maintain a good schedule for exercising. I have to get to the gym around 7 in the morning for 45 minutes of cardio followed by 30 minutes of weight training. I go Tuesday – Friday, reserving Saturday as an option. That means that during the week I don’t technically get started with work until around 10 a.m. That used to overwhelm me. But “technically” exercise and health care are components of my brand. Plus, when I start early, it prevents the cares of the day from robbing away the me-time I have reserved to support my well-being. So, in the words of singer Jill Scott, I constantly tell myself, You better relax yourself. This became even more evident when I discovered that I was having blood sugar level imbalances. Yes! I’m putting my business out there because even more important than vanity, are the health issues we prevent or correct when we exercise.

I struggle to keep my blood sugar levels within a healthy range. I lost an aunt to diabetes when one of her legs was amputated. She survived the surgery but willed herself to death afterwards. Now, I’m determined to will myself to life! I encourage you to do the same. We’ve all heard that exercise promotes healthy hearts, lowers blood pressure, and helps with weight loss. But it also helps lower blood sugar levels, improves memory, lowers anxiety and stress, makes our bodies more agile, balances moods, makes us more confident and the list goes on. With that knowledge, the incorporation of a healthy diet, and intermittent fasting, [limiting my food intake within a 7-hour period] I am determined to get a handle on my struggle and overcome it completely.

Ladies, please put your health first! [Simply eating healthy foods and walking 30 minutes a day will improve your health significantly!] Showing up is important, but how you show up is even more significant. YOU are the health of your brand! Working your business for hours a day without working your body is like putting the cart before the horse. You can’t reach your destination until you get out of your own way.

In order to maintain my health, and prevent taking medication, I not only workout in the mornings 4 times a week, I have to return in the evenings for an additional 15-minute cardio routine before I begin to wind down. And you know what? I’m learning to love working out. And the more I learn to love it – the more I learn to love me! How about you? WE can do this together! If you need a little boost of support, feel free to email me privately at mario@itzjustme.blog. HAPPY WORK OUT!
