What really makes a woman beautiful is when she’s comfortable in her own skin. It’s the unpredictable expressions she utters when she opens her mouth to speak or when she walks across a room completely oblivious to the fact that she’s the light, the power, grace and aroma pervading the space. It’s the energy she emits in the pleasantness of her smile. It is ultimately, much less to do with her physicality as it is her spirit…her distinctive character.
This measure of a woman doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a refinement that comes with confidence born of lessons learned, battles fought and victories won. It’s a comfort that is derived from going inward and recognizing oneself as a person of value. Women who possess this level of comfort don’t follow – they lead -resolute in the fact that their truth empowers other women to live their truth. And while they respect the opinions of others, they are the single most significant voice in their own heads directing their steps and governing their decisions. They live by the cardinal rule that only the woman in her skin can live there. She has learned the art of commanding attention versus demanding it. And her convictions are represented in the way she adorns herself from the make-up she applies to her face [or not] to her attire and hair styles. She lives in freedom-acknowledging in every moment her right to be what she was always intended to be…herself.
