Color Me Pretty

Updated: Jun 2, 2021

Crisp tops in white cotton, satin orange or baby pink are a few of my favorite things. Really! I love the way they make me feel…happy and fresh and hopeful and witty. It’s wonderful! According to scienceofpeople.com, the colors we wear can affect our mood, behavior and stress levels. And researchers, Keith Jacobs and Frank Hustmeyer report that colors have the power to change our heart rate, blood pressure and respiration.

Color specialist Leatrice Eiseman says that color creates the same impressions for different people. Understanding this concept may very well send the subliminal message we want to send in varying situations. For example, blue is considered an excellent color for the office because it’s associated with blue skies and outdoor fun for kids. Black represents power, professionalism and mystery and it’s my number one for evening events and special dinners with hubby on chilled winter nights.

Interestingly, for women working in male dominated workplaces, brown is the choice of color. It represents stability and masculinity and sends a message of credibility.
